Barossa Park
Barossa Park transforms the former Lyndoch Recreation Park into a contemporary sporting and community precinct designed to support local competition, major events and year-round community use.
A defining feature of the architecture is its expressive roofscape. Repeated pitched forms create a distinctive silhouette, giving the precinct a strong identity while retaining the robust, familiar character of regional sporting architecture.
Maximus™ 33’s deeper corrugation delivers strength, spanning capability and a bold architectural presence. Maximus 22 complements it with a finer scale, helping create a cohesive material expression across the project.
The redevelopment was delivered within a highly compressed construction program ahead of AFL Gather Round. While the speed of delivery was a significant achievement, the lasting success of Barossa Park lies in the quality of the result: a durable, welcoming and architecturally distinctive venue designed for both community use and major sporting events.
This project was commended for Public Architecture at the 2026 SA Architecture Awards.
